From Design to Delivery

  • Design

    We can support in product design work in-house for selective opportunities. If we deem it not to be the best solution for our customer or for the overall project, then we’ll engage our partners.

    We work very close with some design consultants that have very long experience in product design. This close cooperation together with partners that know us well and whom we know well creates a very productive environment. Being so close to the design work enables a product design that is meeting customer expectations and that is designed for manufacturing right away. This speed up the development process considerably.

  • Project Management

    Our project managers are ready to manage our part of your project from start to finish. Our project managers are based at our plants close to the activities and the project team. We also have the possibility to help and support the project from the European time zone when production is planned for our Chinese plant. We have a wide range of project management experience from various demanding markets segment such as medical, automotive, mobile phones etc..

    We are used to project management in everything from a single mould/part to large system project with large amount of moulded parts, sourced components, decoration and assembly.

    We will involve a project manager and a project team already in quoting phase so when we win the project and formally assign the project manager and project team then they are already familiar with the project.

  • Tool Making and Machining

    It all started with tool manufacturing in 1961 – with this experience Alvi Group has developed into the company it is today. Our in-house tooling shop in Leksvik, Norway manufacture advanced tools for selected customers.

    We design tools in 3D using modern software. Our skilled and experienced tooling engineers make us a great partner for designing tools, enabling our customers to reach even their most complex products designs.

    Our tool shop is equipped with 3 and 5 axes machining center for turning and milling, EDM and WEDM.

    All machines are of well-known, high quality brands and operated by skilled workforce. This enable us to make very high quality tools.

  • Mould Sourcing

    For our injection moulding business we mainly use our established network when it comes to sourcing the tools/moulds externally. Our network include very experienced and skilled tool makers in Asia & Europe.

  • Injection Moulding

    We have a total of around 100 injection molding machines with from 25 to 500 tonnes of closing force, distributed across our 4 production sites in China and Europe. All machines come from the well-known machine suppliers in Europe.

    Most of our machines are equipped with robots that make picking the parts efficient and precise, and offer the possibility of automated secondary operations on the press side.

    Our injection moulding competences cover most areas within the filed, for example 2K- and insert moulding. We have experience and knowledge in running a wide range of thermoplastic materials such as PE, PP, PC, ABS, PC / ABS, PA, PEEK, TPE, TPU, etc. in filled or non-filled grades.

  • Decoration

    We have good experience with laser etching. Currently, our main capacity and functions are dedicated to laser etching parts to create various backlit effects.

    In Norway we have an in-line metallization process (Lean PVD). Our Lean PVD production cell is a fully integrated process including injection moulding, a 6-axis robot and a metallizing unit.

    Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a technology where a material is evaporated and condensed to form a thin film coating over an object (substrate). Evaporation in PVD can be forced by several methods. The method we uses is magnetron sputtering, where the coating material is “blasted” from the target by a plasma. All PVD processes are performed under vacuum. The use of PVD is a method to replace less environment-friendly chemical and galvanic methods.

    The coatings can be optimized for various characteristics such as electrical, mechanical, optical and decorative.

    We have long experience with tampo printing and can offer printing operation from all our facilities. We also have experience with and can offer IML (In-Mould Label) decoration from all facilities.

  • Assembly

    We have the capability to do assembly in all manufacturing sites. If the volume is high enough, we develop cost efficient automation both in China and Europe.

Alvi Group is committed to sustainability in all aspects of our business. Techmould has installed solar panels on the factory rooftop, providing a total installed capacity of 1.256 kWh. Today we produce 20 % of the total energy consumption at the plant from our own renewable solar energy system.
